We finally picked the artist we are going to do. It is quite new indie popl band called Darwin Deez. We picked them becasue there music is very catchy and cool and the existing videos are entertaining and have interesting ideas behind them. They havent got many official videos so we thought it would be good to do them and do one of their new songs called "Bad Day" which has good lyrics so it will be good to do a video to it to match with the lyrics. Here is one of their videos called Radar Detector. Enjoy!

• Narrative wasn't explained well enough.

•  Might be a bit complicated but a cool idea.

• Perhaps too hard to do.

• Good idea within song.
• lots of locations - could be bit difficult to film.
• will work if though out carefully.

• Good idea with voodoo doll, but the keys idea could be complicated.

Puppets!

                                               

We came up with what we thought we be a brilliant idea for the video. Puppet control! Basically the song is about how this person is wishing bad things happened to this person everyday, so what we thought of is that the person who wants to make this person have a bad day creates a kkind of vodoo puppet in the form of the person they dont like and use it to control them and make bad things happen to them. We dont think it will be a proper string puppet but will  be a normal vodoo puppet but not sticking pins in them or anything. That would be too evil!

Textual Anlysis Research

Videos and Changing the idea

In this lesson we looked at videos and had to listen to the song and lyrics without looking at the video and write down what we thought it would be. Which happened to be the complete opposite in the video we watched by massive attack. Then we picked a song which didnt have a video, picture what you think the typical image would be and then change it around to make it interesting, and as you can see we went from a cool house party to a group of dead people. I would say that was interesting, (but a bit weird too) !

Metal Genre Video

In class we had to describe what certain things would appear in a certain genre of music. For exapmle what kind of camera shots and editing would you see in a video. We chose to do it on Metal and brainstormed about the Mise-en-scene and different things that would generally be in metal videos. Here it is!
